Fatal Snowmobile Accident Sunday 2:30 am Rural Maquoketa

UPDATE:Luke Peter Stephany, 35, of Preston, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 as a result from a snowmobile accident in Miles, Iowa.

UPDATE:
Accident was a male from Preston.
He graduated from Marquette in Bellevue.
Accident took place at Hwy 64 and 484th Ave.

CALL TO LAW ENFORCEMENT CAME IN AROUND 2 THIS MORNING.

SNOWMOBILE ACCIDENT NEAR INTERSECTION OF HIGHWAY 64 AND 484TH
AVENUE ABOUT A MILE WEST OF THE CITY OF MILES.    THE SNOWMOBILER
WAS  TRAVELING WEST THROUGH A FIELD, STRUCK A LARGE PILE OF SNOW

AND THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED AND STRUCK A LARGE POLE.   THE DRIVER

WAS DEAD AT THE SCENE.    NAME IS BEING WITHHELD PENDING

NOTIFICATION OF FAMILY MEMBERS.

Sunday , Feb 2, 2014, 2:30 am Maquoketa Rescue/LEA/Ambulance was called to a Snowmobile Accident Rural Maquoketa, off highway 64 . Reports of a snowmobile crossing and hitting a pole. Male of unknown age, when officer arrived at the scene of the accident he relayed a message regarding the person was not breathing as Amhulance was in route.
